Learn More About Montessori
First, follow @modernmontessorimom for daily updates and ideas on incorporating Montessori at home. If you want to dive deeper, check out the recommended resources below!
Start Here
My first recommendation is to read Simone Davies' book for your child's age: The Montessori Baby (0-12 months), The Montessori Toddler (1 - 4 years), or The Montessori Child (coming soon for ages 4+). These are great, quick reads that will give you an overview of realistic ways to incorporate the Montessori method at home. They are available in multiple languages and will likely be available from your local library or on the Libby library app.
More Books
Once you have read Simone Davies' book, I recommend the following books. Many of these may be available free through your local library or Libby (library app):
-
Montessori from the Start (ages 0-3)
-
Babies Build Toddlers (0-18 months)
-
Once you have a solid foundation, start reading Maria Montessori! I recommend Maria Montessori Speaks to Parents then The London Lectures as first books to read by Dr. Montessori herself.
